I also love the great price of 0$ for Linux and all the tools on it. I'm sure that open-source alternatives always overcome paid ones, if enough time passes.

I also agree with you regarding productivity - I can't imagine going back to Windows for development. Most tools I use usually feel like they were designed to run on Linux, and Windows was more of an alternative.

Also, I'm surprised that your mother uses Ubuntu. My grandmother often has problems when using Windows, and I thought that if I helped her to move on Linux, pre-configured the system for her to be as easy to use as possible, maybe it would be better. The only problem is that I live very far from her, so I can't really be around if somethings breaks. How is your experience with such things?
